AFRICAN UNITY DEMONSTRATED
Building up to the month of May, officially Africa Month, we embark on a virtual campaign inviting singing groups to raise their voices and fill our hearts!
A fun campaign that aims represent the cultural and creative industries of Africa united on an enabling project to meet the projected vision of unity demonstrated.
This is a production series, showcasing Africa’s new generation raising their voices in solidarity to each other’s struggles. Each year Campaign Africa will selected a relevant theme song to serve as a unifier.
Wade In The Water, as a theme song, selected itself really. Due to our common current situations this historic spiritual hymn, whose message carries hope beyond the African in America, but Africans globally, lends itself to be most appropriate.
The best from the entries we receive in the next four weeks, will be challenged to this version of Wade in the Water and encouraged to give it their own flair. Soon we will have ourselves components of an All Africa Choir who will ready to raise their voices and together we will start Africa month in full swing!
Wading through global waters!
Coming out of difficult economies we were all plunged into a global lockdown which presented challenges of varied degrees, some evident and some psychological challenges as well. While still wading through those muddy waters; Africa’s children in eastern Europe currently find their troubles amplified by racial segregation in the middle of hateful chaos.
I can’t imagine the trauma but we are conscious enough to know that they, like us, are in need of moral support, some assurance that together we wade in the water.
Through this campaign of intentional connectivity we remind ourselves that our spirit is connected to each other and our Motherland.
We dey wade!
