Surviving Lockdown is the title of QueensVille Parlour's debut podcast episode.

Global Confinement!

This lockdown has really challenged all of us emotionally, propelling us to grow.
Can you believe it? We are now 19 months into what started as 2 weeks for some and 21 days for others...
We have never experienced anything like this before. And through God's grace, here we are!

We recognize that we are yet to understand the real impact this lockdown has had on our lives. We find ourselves in a new dispensation and so we wanted to share with you how some the Queens have managed to pull themselves and their families through this global challenge. We asked a few questions, because that is part of what we are about here at Queensville Parlour, we care about each others
mental well-being and so we used this exercise as part of a reflective session, as we're about... Getting to the core of things.. and allowing people to express their innermost feelings.

Integration Post-Apartheid

"History was thus made on 9 January, 1991, when the integration of public schools was initiated through the admission of black students to thirty-three formerly all-white schools. The first steps to integration were begun in the former Transvaal Province, and was soon undertaken throughout the country . "  - saha.org.za It was four weeks before my fourteenth birthday when South Africa had its first democratic elections in 1994. We were three years into the integration program that opened up interracial mixing at schools. Apart from expensive private schools, government schools were segregated up until January 1991.
